Terms & Conditions

Welcome to FastPass Motor School. By booking a lesson or purchasing a service with us, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Driving Licence and Student Requirements

Mandatory Licence

The student must carry their valid, current physical Western Australian Learner’s Permit, recognised overseas licence or interstate licence during every lesson.

Failure to Produce Licence

If a student fails to produce their valid physical licence at the start of a lesson, the instructor is legally unable to conduct the lesson. The lesson will be cancelled immediately, and the student will forfeit the full lesson fee.

Logbooks

Students are highly recommended to bring their physical logbook or have their digital logbook app ready to record hours.

Footwear & Attire

Students must wear casual, appropriate clothing. Driving barefoot is legally permitted and acceptable; however, safe control of the vehicle remains the student’s responsibility.

2. Vehicle Damage and Accident Liability

Student At-Fault Damage

If a student causes a car crash, collision or any damage to the training vehicle during a lesson or Practical Driving Assessment (PDA), the student, or their parent/guardian if under 18, is liable to pay the instructor’s insurance excess fee or the total cost of repairs, whichever is lesser.

Third-Party At-Fault Damage

In the event of an accident where a third-party vehicle crashes into the training vehicle and the third-party driver is found to be entirely at fault, the student will not be held liable for the damage. The repair or insurance excess costs will be recovered from the at-fault third-party driver.

3. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

24-Hour Rule

FastPass Motor School operates a strict 24-hour cancellation and rescheduling policy. If you need to cancel or change a booked lesson, you must provide at least 24 hours’ notice.

Late Cancellations and No-Shows

If you cancel or reschedule a lesson within 24 hours of the scheduled start time, or if you fail to attend, you will forfeit the full lesson fee. No refunds, credits or make-up lessons will be provided.

4. Lesson Packages and Vouchers

Payment and Scheduling

Lesson packages, including 5-lesson and 10-lesson blocks, must be paid for in full prior to scheduling the sessions. All standard 24-hour cancellation rules apply to individual lessons booked within a package.

Early Driving Test Forfeiture

If a student books a multi-lesson package and decides to take a driving test package mid-way through their lessons, any remaining unused lessons in that package are immediately forfeited. No refunds, partial refunds or money back will be issued.

General Package Refunds

Change-of-mind refunds for unused multi-lesson packages are permitted only if requested with more than 24 hours’ notice prior to any booked sessions, and provided a test package has not been initiated.

5. Practical Driving Assessments (PDA) & Test Packages

Test Package Structure

Our Test Package is a dedicated 2.5-hour service. This includes a 45-minute warm-up drive, arriving at the Department of Transport licensing centre 15 minutes early in case names are called early, use of the instructor’s vehicle for the practical assessment, and a drop-off afterward.

Fixed Duration Fee

The Test Package counts as a complete 2.5-hour booking. No partial refunds or discounts will be given if the entire process is completed in less than 2.5 hours.

Department of Transport (DoT) Delays

FastPass Motor School is not responsible or liable for last-minute delays, cancellations or scheduling errors caused by the Department of Transport. If the DoT cancels or delays your test last minute, FastPass Motor School will happily reschedule your vehicle booking for free.

6. Instructor’s Right to Terminate a Lesson

The safety of the student, instructor and general public is our highest priority. The instructor reserves the right to terminate a lesson immediately at any point without a refund if the student:

Dangerous Driving

Drives dangerously, recklessly or aggressively.

Disrespectful Behaviour

Displays a negative attitude, or behaves in a disrespectful, rude or abusive manner toward the instructor.

Impaired Driving Ability

Is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication that impairs driving ability.

Unsafe Fatigue

Is suffering from sleep deprivation, such as pulling an all-nighter, to a degree that causes safety hazards or driving problems on the road.

7. Limitation of Liability

While every effort is made to help the student prepare for their driving assessment, FastPass Motor School does not guarantee a pass.

Australian Consumer Law

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, FastPass Motor School is not liable for any personal injury, property damage or financial loss arising during a lesson or Practical Driving Assessment outside of the vehicle damage terms specified in Section 2.
